RIP Kirsty MacColl, ten years ago today

It's very easy to get annoyed about questionable justice systems and Mexican millionaires with wayward sppedboats. Perhaps it's better to listen to some music instead.

  1. Ten years already! One of my favorite voices. Transcendent...

  2. Ten years - bless her heart. Thanks for posting this, Jenny. My favourite songs by her are this one, Soho Square and of course Fairytale of New York.

  3. Ten years already! I had no idea it was so long ago...

Fairytale of New York is one of my favorite Chirstmas tunes, and Days is one of my favorite from the 80's.

I never realised that she died saving her son.

  4. This remains a dreadful injustice. RIP Kirsty.

  5. It sounds awfully naff to say she provided a substantial portion of the soundtrack to my spotty youth, but she did.

    A very upsetting case.

  6. Very much so. On Thursday evening I was sitting in a bar waiting for some colleagues, when they played "Fairytale of New York". I suspect I was the only person in the place who knew about this impending anniversary.
